Notation and IPA candidates

Notation and IPA candidates

Distinguish standard writing, a practical reading aid, IPA, and recorded speech.

A written form, a practical pronunciation aid, an IPA transcription, and a recording are different resources. Understanding their purposes prevents a generated hint from being mistaken for a spelling change or an observed voice.

The original form stays identifiable

Keep the ordinary written Kifuliiru expression as the starting point. Practical notation may add a hint to help a reader approach a sound; that does not automatically establish a new dictionary spelling.

The existing public reference discusses practical bh as a hint associated with written b. Use the reference’s explanation and its limits rather than replacing every written form in another resource with the hint.

Read IPA as a proposed representation

IPA uses specialized symbols to describe speech sounds. A candidate in an experimental tool is a proposed analysis under the current rules. It is not a recording and does not independently validate the rule in every context.

The checked project associates doubled vowels with a continued vowel, describes its softened-b representation, and relates j to the sound illustrated by French jour. Some letter-group mappings remain candidates for review. Consult the phonetics reference for the detailed language discussion.

One recording and anotherAre context and speaker usage being retained?

Different notation systems can look unlike while expressing a related idea. Conversely, similar-looking output can hide an unresolved rule question.

Explain uncertainty

Retain the input, notation, rule under discussion, and evidence. If the question concerns a lexical exception or variation, do not turn one example into a global spelling rule.

Continue with evidence and review for a useful comparison record, or your first example for a manageable starting task.
